I hope everyone is looking forward to Banned Books Week this year! From September 26th to October 2nd, the Gregory School will be showcasing some banned books at the library. Banned Books Week has always been about promoting divisive, controversial, and censored works of literature in an attempt to highlight the value of free and open access to information. Help fight censorship by reading some controversial books next week! These will include “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison, “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas, “The Golden Compass” by Philip Pullman, “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood, “I Am Jazz” by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “Looking for Alaska” by John Green, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky, “And Tango Makes Three” by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, and “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins.
