We will try to honor a different author for every month of the school year. For the month of August, we have chosen the children’s author Rick Riordan. He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and he was born there on June 5, 1964. This means he is currently 59 years old. He conceived of the beloved Percy Jackson book series when coming up with bedtime stories for his son, and he eventually got the first novel in this series published in 2005. The series was a massive hit, and it’s spawned numerous spin-offs, merchandise, and adaptations. Be sure to check some of his books out in the J-FIC section of the library!
