December’s Author of the Month: Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens is one of the most iconic authors of all time. He was born on February 7, 1812 and died on June 9, 1870. His first successful book was The Pickwick Papers, which was published in 1836, and he went on to have a lucrative career as an author. Dickens relied on serial publications, which would publish large novels in small installments. These installments would often end of cliffhangers in order to keep readers continually engaged and curious. Some of Dickens’ most well-known works are A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, David Copperfield, and A Christmas Carol.
